Heart Write, Read, Match Game (Parent Lesson)

Pick a heart word. Can you write, read, and match the heart word to your board? If you fill your game board first you win!

This printable game allows you to play again and again. There are also four versions of the activity to help your child learn more high frequency words by memory. (Game #1 uses Fry's high frequency words 1 to 25, Game #2 uses Fry's high frequency words 21 to 50, Game #3 uses Fry's high frequency words 51 to 75, and Game #4 uses Fry's high frequency words 76 to 100)

Game Play: Pick a heart word. Trace the word. Read the word. Then see if it matches to your game board. Take turns. First person to match all the words on their game board wins.

Common Core Skill:
Your child will learn how to read high frequency words by sight. These words are words that are common and cannot be sounded out. They will do this all by memory.
